Anyone can cook Chicken Legs, so why not kick it up a notch and turn them into lollipops!? Then to make it extra special, wrap em in bacon and coat with an amazing sauce!
Ingredients
-
1 Small Pack of Chicken Legs
-
5 Slices of Thin Cut Bacon
-
FYR BLK Hot Sauce
-
Aight Guys!! AbsolutelyFreakinKiller AP Rub
-
Aight Guys!! Bama’s Smokey Sweet Rub
-
½ Cup of Maple Syrup
-
2 Tbsp of FYR Red Hot Sauce
Hot Maple Sauce
Directions
Set up Grill indirect at 325 degrees.
Time to make your chicken lollipop! Take your chicken leg and cut around the bone about an inch above the knuckle. Make sure to get all tendons cut and push skin down away from the knuckle to expose the bone. Take a paper towel and pull off the knuckle best you can. Now come back and trim up any excess skin or meat with your kitchen shears.
Using the FYR Black Hot Sauce as a binder, coat all chicken legs evenly.
Season your chicken legs with my Aight Guys!! AbsolutelyFreakinKiller AP Rub.
Now wrap each chicken leg with a piece of bacon and secure it with Grill Pinz.
Season the bacon with my Aight Guys!! Smokey Sweet Rub.
Place chicken legs on the grill and cook till they reach an internal temperature of 175-180 degrees.
While Chicken is cooking, mix up your Hot Maple Glaze consisting of maple syrup and FYR Red Hot Sauce.
When your chicken legs get to an internal temperature of 140, start brushing the hot maple glaze on them. I put at least 2 coats, letting cook 5-10 minutes in between coats.
Once the chicken is done, pull it off, bring it inside, hit it with a few green onions for garnish and dig in!

Oh on a side note, don't to forget to remove the Grill Pinz before you dig in!
